My fourth year of exploring High Acres Nature Area has begun. On Saturday April 4 a great blue heron flew overhead, a pair of bluebirds were courting, the ponds are thawed (finally) and one little coot was paddling about with a small flock of geese. The weeds are still as fascinating as they were in the winter - it's all about the light!
