Light Touch Photos | purchasing prints-2

Thank you for your interest in my photography! With all the great art work in the world I am honored that you are considering my work to brighten your home or office.

Why Make Prints? - Photographic prints really will last a lifetime. While digital media is very popular, given its uncertain lifespan I recommend that one way or another you obtain archival-quality prints of your images. We still have photographs from the 1840s, but we don’t always have uncorrupted versions of digital files made just a few years ago. Your prints will look just as beautiful 25-100 years from now as the day they were made. * Prints, photo books and specialty items from the Brighton Arts and Events Galleries can be ordered directly from the website.  Choose the gallery, then the image you want and click the "Buy" button in the upper right corner of the page. Follow the ordering and check out prompts. If you have any questions or problems please contact me.

Fine Art Prints

From all other galleries please contact me to purchase prints.  CLICK HERE for a PRICE LIST.  Please read below about the different print media, frames, and process. Most images are available in various sizes so please let me know what you want and in most cases I can do it for you.

The Printing/Paper/Inks

My images are printed by professional photo labs that I have great confidence in. Some prints look better on one paper or medium vs another and are chosen by me for artistic reasons. Inks are archival and will resist fading under indoor lighting for about 100 years. Prints and print products will not carry any copyright or watermarking that you may see on the website.

Photographic Fine Art prints - images are printed on either Epson, Kodak Professional Endura or HP Professional photographic papers with a lustre, satin, or enhanced matte finish.  All papers and inks are archival quality and will last about 100 years in not in direct sun.

To Frame or Not To Frame?

I prefer to sell unframed fine art prints because with the huge variety of mats and frames available it is often best for you to have it matted and framed locally to meet your aesthetic and financial requirements. If you need a suggestion of where to have it framed I can recommend several shops who do a fantastic job. Support your local frame shop!

If you would like me to mat and frame it for you prints are matted with a standard gallery-white mat and black, matte finish metal frame. Glazing is acrylic/plexiglass due to weight and risk of breaking. Price is based on size. Contact me for details.

You may also consider having your print plaque-mounted or the image printed on canvas. Another option is prints on metal. These are beautiful alternatives to traditional matting and framing, each giving a different look which may be just the thing to enhance the decor of your room.

Plak-mount Prints - images are mounted to a 3/8" medium density fiberboard and then sealed and protected by tough, durable and washable UV laminate with a satin finish. The edges are shaped and colored black. A keyhole on the back allows for easy hanging.

Canvas Gallery Wraps - Your image is printed on very high quality, thick, 21 mil poly-cotton blend canvas, and sprayed with PremierArt ECO Print Shield which helps to avoid cracking at edges, extends the already very long lifetime (about 150 years) before fading, and provides abrasion resistance, all without adding glossiness to the print. It is then stretched on thick, sturdy 1.5" x 1.5" kiln dried stretcher bars. The sturdiness helps to insure that the frame will not warp over time and makes the mounted prints look better when hung. The image is extended by 2.75" in each direction to add an appropriate border.

Prints on Metal - Your image is directly printed on specially coated aluminum sheets that gives you crisp, vivid results that seem to glow from within. The high-gloss finish offers incredible color saturation and contrast with amazing depth and detail. Prints will not fade over time and are 100% waterproof so they can be hung anywhere, even in the kitchen or bathroom as they can be wiped clean.
