About Light Touch Photos
The Photography of Angela Possemato
In addition to being an avid photographer I am a flutist and music educator. I also enjoy yoga, reading, cooking, biking, spending time in nature and traveling. A long time interest, I began pursuing photography seriously in 2007. Since that time I have had the privilege of studying with Freeman Patterson in New Brunswick, Canada, Richard Martin, Coburg, Ont., Andre' Gallant in Lunenberg, NS, Alison Shaw and Eddie Soloway at the Maine Media College in Rockport, Maine (2009 & 2015), Mark Bowie, Adirondack Photography Institute and have taken a variety of classes and workshops at the Flower City Arts Center in Rochester, NY and with Rochester photographer Gary Thompson. I find additional inspiration in the work of David DuChemin, Tony Sweet, Brenda Tharp, the late Nancy Rotenberg and many of my colleagues and friends.
I live in Macedon with my husband, musician and teacher Harvey Possemato. Check out his music at http://www.harveyband.com/
Artist Statement
“As a musician I have been training my ears all my life to be sensitive to the beauty in our world through the color, texture, form and dynamics of music. Through photography I am
developing my eye and I see color, texture, tone, and dynamics, in a whole new light. Photography offers me the opportunity to slow down, be present, and see beauty in things small and large that I might have otherwise missed. I strive to create images that express my interpretation of the places and things that I find beautiful or interesting, be it an entire scene or a very small detail of it. I enjoy nature, travel and landscape photography hoping to capture what is unique about the place and give the viewer a sense of being there with me. I also enjoy photographing special events and the performing arts aiming to capture special moments of peak emotion.”
