I never know what I am going to find on my walks at High Acres. Today 5/18/14 it was a tiny fawn, snuggled between the large stones that rim the parking lot. I didn't see him/her until I was just a couple of feet away. He/she was alive, breathing and blinking and occasionally nodding off - and probably wishing mom would come back soon! A good thing about a long lens is that I can stay back quite a ways and observe and photograph without disturbing.
