the legend of Flisak

the legend of Flisak

Flisak was a raftsman in Torun who played the violin very well. According to an old legend, the city of Torun was overrun by a plague of frogs and no-one knew how to get rid of them. The Mayor promised the hand of his daughter in marriage to any person who could clear the city of the frogs. Of course, rather like the Pied Piper of Hamelin, Flisak played so well that all the frogs followed him and left the city of Torun. He claimed his reward and married his beloved and they lived happily ever after.
